The Power of YOU

Program to Watch

Program Description

Working with school districts and community‑based organizations, the Power of YOU provides outreach to middle school and high school students. The program provides intensive counseling and advising to help participants persist and be successful in their K-12 studies. The program then covers the cost of tuition and fees for the first two years (or up to 72 credits), at any of the Power of YOU institutions (Metropolitan State University, Minneapolis Community and Technical College, or Saint Paul College). Students who complete these two years of study may be eligible for a merit‑based scholarship at Metropolitan State University to continue their education. The Power of YOU will support as many eligible students as possible based on financial need and funds available for the program
