To use appropriate models to decrease the added stress and discrimination endured by the LGBT community.

Evidence of Impact

Level 2 - According to survey data, if protégés had more frequent contact from mentors, they were significantly more likely to be satisfied with the program. However, there were some alignment issues with mentors expecting to provide more support, whereas protégés expecting more career guidance.

LGBT Targeted Mentoring: Provides a literature review of the need for LGBT specific programming, and the benefits of targeted mentoring. Also summarizes the outcomes of a program evaluation from survey data.

CDSEJ Annual Report 2008-2009: Provides leadership names and current activities of the Council on Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity at the Council on Social Work Education.

The program is sponsored by a branded organization, and the reports provide the detail necessary to replicate it.
