Sponsored by the Council on Social Work Education, the program paired LGBT students with LGBT mentors to try to increase the effectiveness of the relationship.
Level 2 - According to survey data, if protégés had more frequent contact from mentors, they were significantly more likely to be satisfied with the program. However, there were some alignment issues with mentors expecting to provide more support, whereas protégés expecting more career guidance.
LGBT Targeted Mentoring: Provides a literature review of the need for LGBT specific programming, and the benefits of targeted mentoring. Also summarizes the outcomes of a program evaluation from survey data.
